The Turbo Bee

| The Turbo Bee can take off from the ground with the
optional drop-off landing gear. This keeps the flying weight down. The
clean aerodynamics and the optional drop-off landing gear allow
surprisingly high speeds and very predictable and amazingly low slow speed
performance. No expensive fan units are required because the large
diameter duct works well with a cut-down propeller. The covered airframe
weighs approximately 10.4 oz with servos installed (note: equipment used
will greatly affect all-up weight). Clancy spent countless hours to
develop the Turbo Bee because they wanted good ground take-off ability and
jet-like performance on an affordable motor.
Instead of using an expensive ducted fan unit, the Turbo Bee uses an internal ducted propeller made from a standard prop (APC 8x6 "E" Prop) that has been cut down to fit the 4.25" duct. This saves cost and improves performance with the common motor. Specifications:
